Antique Vintage Steiff CHOW CHOW BROWNIE Dog Pre War 9 1/2" 28 cm 1928-1932

Description

This Steiff Chow Chow Brownie was made from 1928-1932. His chest tag reads "Chow Chow Brownie" on the front and "Zeppelin Mascot" on the back.  He stands 9 1/2" tall which makes him the 28cm size.  His legs are a little loose where they connect to his body.
He has some darkening of his paws and legs. He has mohair thinning and loss.  Each of his front legs have a tear that have been repaired (see photo).  His button is no longer intact.  Chow Chow Brownie
was created by Steiff to honor the Chow Chow puppy named Veedol that traveled on the German airship Graf Zeppelin on a transatlantic flight in the 1930s.  He is a rare antique Steiff with all the classic charm and character that make Steiff animals so timeless.
